About the artist
Bethany Bash is a visual artist based in Oslo, Norway. After living and working in Durham, North Carolina for 18 years, she moved to Oslo in August of 2025.
Bethany's work includes painting, drawing, sewing, and embroidery. Through the use of self-portraiture, she explores themes related to the harmful -isms we are quietly indoctrinated with under capitalism and white supremacy, and the impact it has on our individual mental health and our collective unwellness.
Along with her studio art practice, from 2023-2025 Bethany co-facilitated the first three years of CANDOR's Torchlight Residency in Durham, NC. This residency for Autistic and Nuerodivergent emerging artists, serves to educate at the intersection of disability justice and arts activism.
